Mountain Ash

The Mountain Ash is perfect for a romantic getaway for two. It is situated in a private area of the field with only a short walk to the local pub. Inside the Pod there is a comfortable double bed and a mini kitchen that provides all you need to prepare a romantic candlelit picnic (or alternatively you can set up a BBQ outside). There is a wood burner to keep you cosy all night long and a refreshing hot shower to get you going in the morning. All of this can be enjoyed to your own personal soundtrack by connecting your phone or iPod to the speaker system, or simply open the window and relish the music of nature.

The EcoPods are home away from home and we want you to feel as comfortable as possible. Please bring your own bedding, towels and tea towels. If you have any extra requirements or requests please contact Craig Banks at

Heights of Abraham; Matlock Bath

Cavern tours run at regular intervals throughout the day. Times are advertised at the entrance. It is said that the lead mining in this area began in Roman times, reaching its heyday in the 17th Century. The miners are now long gone but in the process of excavating the rich mineral deposits they left behind a large network of naturally formed caverns and passageways dating back millions of years. Now, regular guided tours allow you to retrace the miners' footsteps for yourself. The Masson Cavern Experience first hand our spectacular cavern system as it winds its way deep underground and into the hillside. With the help of a state of the art lighting installation your guide will take you on a fascinating journey. From the light of a miner's candle to the whole chamber being flooded with colour you will see and hear all about the cavern's 350 million year history.

Chatsworth House

The farmyard at Chatsworth has been a favourite day out for children of all ages since 1973. What child doesn’t love to meet ponies and lambs, take a trailer ride, and then swing, climb and splash around in the great outdoors? So, if your young ones like to meet animals, make new friends, try new things and play all day, they are going to love our farmyard and playground. There are also special activities during Easter, Halloween and Christmas. We want the grown-ups to have a great time too, so you can enjoy refreshments in the café or browse the shop.
